Skills School success in the North East

Published:

Skills School in the North East has been building since its launch in September 2016 with over 50 junior athletes attending and 14 coaches in the first two sessions.

In a Skills School day regional coaches attend a morning workshop and share ideas and challenge each other with new concepts before the junior athletes arrive in the afternoon.  During the sessions children are exposed to various skills and then challenged to explore and enhance them through some guided challenge and discovery.

Phil Jameson, North East Skills School Lead comments "Athletes are encouraged to try new skills and develop different things at a level suitable for them.  The days have worked really well and have helped with new ideas to develop the days even further in 2017."

The next Skills School session will be in January 2017.  Coaches can contact the Skills School Lead, Phil Jameson skillsschoolnortheast@britishtriathlon.org

More details regarding Skills School can be found on the Skills School website.
