Summer Holiday Training Sessions for Young Athletes at Hetton

Published:

The region has organised summer holiday training sessions for young athletes at Hetton.

The sessions are targeted at T2 / T3 age athletes, although experienced T1's and older athletes will find them useful and are welcome to attend. These are scheduled for Wednesday afternoons, with the first on 27 July, then every Wednesday in August.

The sessions will start at 1pm, finishing at 5pm.  All sessions will include bike and run - hopefully we'll also be in the lake for open water swimming, depending on lake conditions (its unlikely to get weed cleared this year, so may not be suitable for swimming).

Kit required - tri kit / bike clothing.  Bring helmet and bike.  Bring trainers for transition running if the athlete normally cycles in bike shoes.  Wetsuit, goggles, swim hat and towel.  There are showers at the venue.  It's a fairly long session, so bring water-bottles and a snack.

Please weather-proof your young athletes as best as possible - sun cream if it's nice, warm & water-proof gear if it's not.  The venue can be quite exposed and we'll attempt to complete as much as we can safely even in inclement weather.

For details of the venue, see http://www.seeitdoitsunderland.co.uk/hetton-lyons-country-park

Session cost is £8.  Book in with Sue Gardener (email tri.sue@outlook.com).  We anticipate sessions being at capacity, so booking is essential.
