The following nominations have been received for the vacant posts in the North West Committee along with their brief personal statement:
Chair
Lee Mathison. I am the current Chair and would like to continue to develop the Swim, Bike, Run in our region.
Secretary
Brad Lincoln. I’ve been Secretary for the last 2 years and am prepared to support the Committee again for the next couple of years. I’ve also organised the winter NW Zwift League for Clubs.
Officials Co-ordinator.
Eric Brooks. I am currently the officials coordinator and have introduced a second to the role already who looks after the moto officials.
Alan Stockton I’ve done a good job over the last year supporting the area and BTF, Got plenty of new members which is good and still some to get through who I’m still in chats with about getting on for their shadow events
IRC Manager
Jonathan Grundy. Current co opted IRC manager, assisted Andy Rawley in 2021 and carried out full team manager role in 2022. Moving forward looking to strengthen both the IRC team and links with the academy to build the performance pathway.
Treasurer
Carol Spoor. I am a passionate triathlete, qualified accountant and I am treasurer of my local triathlon club. As such I can use my accountancy knowledge and experience to assist with financial matters. I would also hope to assist the committee by sharing thoughts and experiences from my club, fellow triathletes and myself to help provide a balanced view for committee decision making.
Coaching Co-ordinator
Terry Bates. Current Coach Coordinator who, has been running the coach networking meetings and follow ups for the region. Also, organised links to workshops and CPD's for coach experience opportunities.
Junior Series Co-ordinator
Paul Ekgren. I have been doing this role now for many years. I came from a running and triathlon background and want to give the opportunity to all the young athletes out there so they can compete?, have fun and make new friends and just take part if they wish.
Senior Series Co-ordinator
Ian Mostyn. I have held this position for the past couple of years and with Covid disrupting a lot of events, it has been very difficult to organize. Now that we seem to be returning to some kind of normality, I have loads of ideas that I would like to bring to the series.
I am a big supporter of our local clubs and feel we should use the series to encourage participation, support our local races, especially club run races and showcase our excellent clubs to gain new members. The majority of triathletes racing are not club members and we should be encouraging them to join clubs, become coaches or officials, help run events and spread the sport across the region.
Communications Co-ordinator
