The Regional Committee have organised a CPD day for all coaches within the NW region

The 1st North West CPD workshop day

Aimed at the coaches of the NW, but open to potential coaches as well.

Date: Sunday 11th October

Venue: Edge Hill University, L39 4QP

Time: 8.30-4.00pm

8 workshops to choose from, practical and theory!

Supported by the North West Regional Committee

£35pp EARLY BIRD until 12th September at 5pm, then £45pp.

This workshop will take you though the common faults you will often see within the freestyle stroke. We look at identifying cause and effect before looking at methods to help correct our swimmers stroke.

The workshop will include many areas of running and include; gait analysis, biomechanics and the effect of running injuries. Running analysis will highlight possible areas for improvement of running form and minimise risk of injuries.  Short presentation on running form and styles. Drill demonstration and practical session following mobilisation warm-up and best preparation for main sessions.

This workshop will identify the Swim Smooth swim type system; there are 6 main swim types. They will be broken down to what holds them back in the water, areas of development and how this links to personality type, and also the best methods to coach the individuals or groups.

Science behind a bike fit

As a Retül certified bike fitter Tim will be providing performance related bike fitting science. Looking at and explaining the key components related to physiology and bio-mechanics this workshop will also cover a motion-capture bike fitting to deliver highly accurate and comprehensive data to guide optimal performance, efficiency, injury prevention, and comfort on the bike.
