Description of the course:
This course is a 6 hours and will teach you how to administer first aid specific to triathlon injuries.
Brett Bader is an Emergency Medical Technician. He runs a training consultancy in sports first aid and Health and Safety, as well as being a trainer in emergency casualty management for the Territorial Army.
All candidates will receive:
· training pack
· colour manual
· 5 certificates:
1. QCF Emergency First Aid at Work
2. Emergency First Aid at Work - Triathlon
3. Automated External Defibrillator
4. Auto Adrenaline Injection Pen Module
5. BHF Heart start
The 6 hour course meets the requirements for changes in first aid training from 1st Oct 2009. All candidates will receive their certificates on the day of the course.
The course content will include: aims of first aid, role of first aider, anaphylaxis, asthma, bleeding, fractures and dislocations, collisions, head injuries, choking, cardio pulmonary resuscitation, defibrillation, diabetes, drowning, eye injuries, first aid kits, fitting, heart attacks, poisoning, recovery position, shock, spinal injuries, stroke, unconscious casualties, burns, climate injuries, soft tissue injuries, Q & As.
Pre Requisite: You must be a member of Triathlon England and at least 16 years old.
