A successful Novice Day with Women's Running

Published:

More than 30 eager female beginner triathletes attended the first British Triathlon and Women's Running collaborative GO TRI training day at Abingdon School on the 4th February.

On a sunny but chilly February Sunday, 30 ladies were put through their paces by the coaching team from Tri Swim Coaching led by Head Coach Annie Oblerlin - Harris,  learning everything from basic bike handling skills to transition techniques .

Jenny Bozon , Women's Running Editor attended the day and said 'I was a bit nervous about the day but the coaches were briiliant and made us all feel like we were in the same boat, i've learnt loads and am really looking forward to taking part in my first triathlon'

Feedback from the day was very positive and one Women's Running reader perfectly summed up the event

'I only took up running in September bought a bike in November. At my age it’s like I woke up from a very long sleep. I wanted to challenge myself and achieve the unthinkable to me. Read the magic of 3 in the women’s magazine and a light bulb switched on. Thought I would be nervous but I was so excited. Making new friends new challenge ‘s especially swimming. My goal was to try it all at the best of my ability. Now I must sign up and complete a race. Thank you to everyone. A very happy woman xx'
