Hester Pollock of Beachborough Triathlon Club recently ran a training camp for advanced Tristar 2 and 3 athletes at Sibford School in Banbury. On 11/12th September a 2 day training camp was run for more advanced south central triathletes

The camp included swimming running cycling and strength and conditioning sessions. There was a talk on nutrition and they had two academy athletes come to chat informally about what it's like to be an academy athlete. They focused on drafting skills on the bike and swim and learnt how to warm up pre race.

In the evening they camped and had a communal BBQ followed by a game of rounders which was great fun.

The following day they divided the children into 5 teams who had race a triathlon alongside playing quoites. It was a true team challenge and fantastic fun.

Hester and her team of coaches will be running another camp next Easter and again in the summer. And hopefully help to inspire the next generation.
