Tri Something New - Disability Novice Sessions for adults and children

Published:

In May this year British Triathlon are working with the Arctic One Foundation who have a Tri and Para-Tri mass participation event (c. 200 participants) that has happened for the last three years at Dorney Lake - http://www.arctic1.co.uk/?event=dorney-tri-festival . For 2018 British Triathlon are adding a Paratriathlon World Cup race (elite level) to their existing event schedule and we are also going to be running pre and post event activities aimed at getting people from the local community having a go, or learning about what a triathlon is.

I have organised some Tri Something New triathlon taster sessions at Windsor Leisure Centre for adults and children with additional needs of any kind with our fully qualified British Triathlon coaches. We would be happy to cater for different disabilities or additional needs and can work with you to tailor the sessions to suit. The adult and junior sessions are seperate sessions .

I am running three sessions initially from 9:30am - 12:30pm for children and 1:30pm – 4:30pm for adults , with a maximum of 10 in each session. The sessions will include a welcome and introduction to triathlon with some running skills, a session on some indoor spinning bikes in a studio learning about triathlon cycling , and then finally some time in the swimming pool (this is optional for non swimmers). These sessions are totally free and are currently booked to run on the 22nd May, 29th May and 12th June.

If you know of anyone who may be interested themselves in these free sessions, or have links to any charities or specialist schools in the area of Berkshire then please email me and we can provide some more information jengranger@britishtriathlon.org
