Event Preview - The Leeds Castle Triathlon

In association with Ocean Lake Triathlon and supported by Triathlon England, final preparations are in good shape with just 5 days to go until Leeds Castle’s first ever triathlon.

The Leeds Castle Triathlon, near Maidstone, promises not only to be a great race for competitors, but also to be a fantastic day out for your spectators. During the race, as well as watching friends and family who have entered to race, you will be able to wander round the event village and enjoy delicious food and drink, activities and stalls. Spectators and competitors alike will get the chance to enter our free prize draw each day, with lots of goodies to be won, from a bike care kit, to tickets to the Leeds Castle Fireworks Spectacular. You are also welcome to enjoy the historic Castle, grounds, maze, play areas and falconry display.

The weekend will start on the Friday evening with an Aquathlon for juniors. The Swim will be in the iconic Castle’s moat followed by a run within the castle grounds. This is the first of an event like this at the Castle so a great race for juniors to be a part of.
 
Then it’s the adults turn with the Sprint Triathlon on Saturday and Olympic distance on the Sunday. Again the swim will be in the moat, with the course taking athletes through the castle arches. This swim offers a unique backdrop for spectators to watch on and cheer for their friends and family. On exiting the water they will make their way to the driving range for transition before heading out of the castle on to a rolling bike course. Off the bike the athletes will then complete a run course around the stunning castle grounds.
  • 27 June - Junior Aquathlon
  • 28 June - Sprint Tri (750m/26k/5k)
  • 29 June - Standard Tri (1500m/40k/10k)
