Frosty Aquathlon - A great Success !

Published:

Sunday March 3rd saw the 28th Aquathlon run by Tuff Fitty Tri Club in Littlehampton in Sussex.

After the past week’s heavy wind and rain, the morning of the Frosty Aquathlon lived up to its name with early frost and ice, crisp and still conditions for the event staged by Tuff Fitty Triathlon Club.

Often viewed as a curtain raiser to the new season, seeing many first-time multisport competitors through to regular returners and elite triathletes is gratifying.  Of particular note was that the age range spanned 70 years from 15 to the 2023 European Age Group Sprint Triathlon Champion Daphne Belt as she embarked on her quest to complete 85 events in her 85th year.

The race organisers were delighted with the fully subscribed field with only a handful of ‘no shows’.

The sunny morning made for a spectacular showcase event as the 58 volunteers, supporters, and the public cheered and celebrated the 143 competitors, performing to the best of their ability in perfect race conditions.

The organisers thank all who attended, whether participating, supporting or volunteering, for making the 28th Frosty event another success.

Tuff Fitty wishes everyone a great season and looks forward to many returning for the 2025 Frosty event.
