GO TRI events continue to provide the perfect opportunity for newcomers to multisport to have their first experience in a safe, and fun environment. So, we look ahead to upcoming GO TRI events in July and August.
As with the regular triathlon season, the GoTri season is also in full swing with many clubs in the South East region all set to host their 4th or 5th event of the year. As with all GoTri events (the clue is in the title) they are intended as a fun way to access triathlon for the first time. Join in swim, cycle or run training sessions or take part in your very first triathlon event.
Both GO TRI training and events are available locally, very reasonably priced, with manageable distances which have been purpose-designed for beginners.
Just to highlight the variety of the events in your region, here are a choice few coming up in the next few weeks
GO TRI Whitstable - Saturday 18th July
Pool based triathlon - Consisting of a 200m pool swim, a 6km road cycle followed by a 2km off road run. This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in participating in their first triathlon with managable distances. With a strong emphasis on enjoyment & completion, this is a great opportunity to give the sport a go!
GO TRI Horsham - Saturday 18th July - £5.00
Pool based aquathlon - consisting of a 200m swim and a 3.4km run at Pavilions in Horsham Park. The facilities are excellent & the kit you need is minimal. Do you have a swim costume & trainers? Yes? Then you can do this event (goggles are helpful also).
GO TRI Sheppey - Sunday 19th July - £5.00
A series of GO TRI Aquathlons based at Sheppey Leisure Complex, organised by Swale Community Leisure in partnership with Swale Borough Council. This event involves a 400m sea swim followed by a 5km run. This is perfect for any athlete who would like to do their first sea swim in a safe and friendly environment. Spelthorne - Saturday 25th July - At Sunbury Leisure centre - a 150m swim and a 2km run.
Brighton - Wednesday 29th July at Pells pool in Lewes, with differing distances for all aged 8yrs+
Ashford - Wednesday 5th August. An open water swim & stadium finish for the run!
