Here is an update on everything Junior!

Junior Race Series providing hot competition!

Only one event to go in the SE Junior Race Series!  In the last two months we have been to Chichester, Bridge Triathlon, the amazing Leeds Castle Aquathlon shown above, Trinity Triathlon and last weekend in the scorching heat, the penultimate race was at Eton Dorney.  Super Tri was also an IRC (Inter Regional Championship) qualifier and sees competition from all regions including Scotland and Jersey!  It was great to see our South East athletes holding their own winning or being well placed in all categories.  In the High Performances races there was age group wins for Bethany Cook (TS3) and Hamish Reilly (Youth) and in the non-drafting races wins for Ella Baker (TS1), Abigail Garthwaite (TS2) and Ethan Darcy (TS3).  Well done to all athletes - you did so well in the heat!  Next in the diary is Bri Tri Kids Tri on August 19th and there is still time to enter.  This is a great event for new athletes and seasoned athletes alike.  Hope to see you there.

Skills School heads to Brighton

Back in June, Skills School was invited to Sussex Tri-Stars - the junior section of Brighton Triathlon club to deliver some race practice sessions Skills School style.  The day brought together the coaches and athletes from Tri-Stars, Mid Sussex Juniors and Worthing Otters.  Thanks to coaches Kevin Hancock and Paul Farrant from Tri-Stars and Rachel Baker and Robert Hoodless from Mid Sussex Juniors for getting involved.

Next Skills School adventures are in September.  A sea swim and transition Skills School is being planned for Saturday 1st September to prepare athletes for the Brighton and Hove Triathlon and the following day, September 2nd there are plans to hold a Skills School for older athletes TS2, 3 and youth to practice skills needed for drafting races.  Please email skillsschoolsoutheas@britishtriathlon.org if you are interested in coaching at or taking part in either of these days.
