What level of triathlete would you associate yourself with?

I’m not sure what it makes me but I’m generally very near the bottom of my age group – I am SLOW! My dreams of being competitive live only in my head these days – my closest competition is myself.

What or who made you try out triathlon?

After several years enjoying endurance running I was looking to change things up a little and I thought the 3 disciplines would add a lot more variation and ‘challenge’ to my training. Being an endurance runner I immediately had eyes on endurance triathlon – I wish I’d tried a few sprints first lol

You mentioned you have tried the Ironman distance three times – what motivates you to race at this distance?

Oh, as above, the ‘endurance’ bug still lives on. I enjoy the time on my own, I don’t mind the hours training and it simply seemed logical in my weird and crazy head to go from endurance running to endurance triathlon. Little did I know …  I’m also strangely fascinated by the psychology of endurance sports and couldn’t resist the challenge and the ‘experiment’. Sadly, my experimenting was not very successful, but hey, I made 3 start lines
