Skills School

Published:

Despite the weather we have had two busy Skills School days so far this year.

In March, Skills School visited Cyclopark for a session developing duathlon racing skills like running with the bike, fast mounting and dismounting as well as some key bike handling skills including cornering and looking over your shoulder before pulling out to overtake!  A favourite part of the session was racing Formula 1 style around a circuit with 2 pit stops.  Athletes had to choose when, in a 3 or 5 min race, they wanted to take their two 30 second stops and practice their mounts and dismounts in and out of the pitstop!  Many thanks to all the attending coaches who made the day a lot of fun for everyone.   If you are a coach that would like to be involved in a Skills School day CPD opportunity please get in touch by email to skillsschoolsoutheast@britishtriathlon.org.  More information about Skills School in the South East can be found here.

There will be at least one open water Skills School in June (date to be confirmed) but next up there are a couple of Club Skills School days with Chichester Westgate Tri Club and Phoenix Tri Club.  Club days can be arranged for clubs with more than 25 athletes and 4 coaches attending.  If you are a club coach and think that you would like to arrange a Club Skills School day then please let me know.
