Summer sun greeted the athletes at the inaugural Liskeard Triathlon hosted by Carrick Leisure.

150 athletes arrived at Lux park in Liskeard for the race which is in its debut year. This was a full field and transition filled ready for the racing to start at 10.

Once out of the pool the athletes faced a sporting bike leg followed by a fairly flat run. 

The race is part of the Cornwall Triathlon Series which includes 10 events.

"Well done on getting organised with this triathlon series. it was needed in Cornwall to cope with this ever increasing popular sport. Last year it was difficult and hard work to get entires in for races, i.e, having to print of entry form send a cheque etc.... but you recognised this and provided probably the best system I and others have come across to enter a race. Big pat on the back on also organising the swim coaching this will give some people the push to attempt an open water swim that were maybe to apprehensive to give it ago without adequate supervision. Well Done."
