New draft-legal coaching session to be held for athletes and coaches in Thruxton

Published:

Athletes and coaches can learn more about and practice draft-legal racing at a cycling coaching session at Thruxton Race Circuit next month.

Being held on Sunday 3 April, before the Thruxton Full Throttle Sprint Triathlon on the same day, the session will be delivered by British Triathlon and will allow athletes and coaches to develop their draft legal cycling skills, putting them at the leading edge of draft legal triathlon and duathlon races in the future.

Starting at 10:30am, the one-hour session will be focused on bike handling and drafting skills, including time on the race track to practice cornering, drafting and group riding, along with advice and tips from British Triathlon qualified coaches.

Whether you have always wanted to race in a draft-legal triathlon or duathlon and want to build your skills and confidence first or you are an Age-Group athlete or looking to qualify for Age-Group racing, this is a great opportunity for athletes to practice and develop your drafting and handing skills.

To attend the draft-legal coaching sessions, athletes must have a draft-legal bike, with no aero bars, and wear a helmet. The session is £10 and athletes must sign-up in advance of the session here.

There is a draft-legal sprint duathlon, organised by Challenging Events, taking place at 12:30pm where athletes can put their newly learned skills into practice.
