20 competitors ranging from total novices to an Elite level Under 20's Team GB triathlete who is currently 5th in her age group in the UK took part.

Everyone swam a 400m Swim format which entailed swimming out around a buoy, heading back to shore exiting the water run up the beach around a flag before re-entering the water for the second 200m swim. They then ran up onto the prom where they transitioned into their running gear and headed off up the killacourt out to Porth and back on a 6km loop. Some of the competitors finished after the run with others completing another 400m swim. We had a number of holiday makers just turn up on the day and enter after seeing us set up the HQ and asking us 'whats going on?' One gentlemen traveled all the way from Bath that day and returned the same day as he had work. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves and will be back next year.   

I would like to thank British Triathlon for their support and Wes who manages Towan Beach for allowing the event to take place and facilitating us so well throughout. The RNLI Lifeguards for their continued support and especially Anton for being our liase and assistance on the day. I would finally like to thank my event team and marshalls whom are all members of Academy Fitness and all the general public who came to watch and cheer on the competitors.  

We are already working on dates for next years event and ask any businesses who are interested in supporting this event to contact us, as our vision for next year is to make this a FREE to enter event.
