North Cornwall has a new triathlon club

Published:

Loosely based around Launceston, North Cornwall there is now a new triathlon club. Elements Triathlon Club has been set up by Paul Moore, an avid triathlete who came across numerous athletes in the area.

The spread of activity and interest is typically varied, with Iron and half Ironmen and women already active, namely James McDiarmid, Mark Knight, Matt Luxton, Kate Atack, Paul Howard and Dan Kinver all active this year, with more Iron Distance activities already booked in for 2016.

At the same time swimming lessons have started for a few budding athletes who are looking to compete in their first events in 2016 or who want to work  on technique. We also have numerous members who have taken part in the Tempus Leisure events, Bude Triathlon and local races.

Training is Mondays and Fridays swimming in Launceston, Running with Launceston Road Runners on Tuesdays and ParkRuns on Saturdays. Bike rides are on Sundays at 9:30 from the Lifton Farm shop. Then we have an active Facebook site where members can hook up to train together and our website

Thanks goes to the Region in supporting getting our coaching off the ground with six members looking to take coaching qualifications early next year.

So if you feel you are an athlete who want to become a triathlete, or you're an Iron Distance athlete looking for training partners then join us!
