In association with the Severn Centre, BASC Tri are now happy to announce their annual sprint triathlon.

In association with the Severn Centre in Highley, Shropshire, Bridgnorth and Severn Centre Triathlon club (BASCTri) is now promoting its annual sprint triathlon, which will take place on the 14th May 2017. Now in its fifth year the Highley Sprint Triathlon, known as the ‘Miners’ TRIal’, is fast establishing itself as one of the most rewarding and scenic events in the West Midlands.

The event attracts people of all abilities, from novices trying the sport for the first time, to seasoned ‘Ironman’ Triathletes. BASCTri club members will be there to offer their support.

Based at the Severn Centre in Highley, the event involves a 400m swim in one of the few remaining heated outdoor pools in the West Midlands. An 18km bike leg that takes in some stunning Shropshire scenery follows the swim. The final leg is an off-road 5km run, descending into the beautiful Severn Valley Country Park. The route then heads along the bank of the River Severn, crosses the Historic Severn Valley Railway, before heading back to the Severn Centre to finish.
