Over 50 and fancy an exercise challenge?

Published:

A Birmingham wellbeing centre is on the look-out for over 50s who fancy trying their hand at a cycling and running training session.

Shard End Wellbeing Centre has teamed up with British Triathlon to host a training day to give men and women who are over 50 the opportunity to hone their cycling and running skills and consider entering their very first triathlon.

The half day FREE event takes place on the 12th February from 10am to 2pm.

Sita Singh, Assistant Leisure Operations Manager at Shard End, said: “We are really excited to run this session at our centre. It is geared towards those who really fancy a new challenge and are considering their very first triathlon. As well as a triathlon being a great goal to set yourself, it is also a fantastic way to get in shape.”

Helen Barklam, from British Triathlon, said: “We run super short mini triathlons as part of our GO-TRI series and these are designed especially for beginners and so much fun. It is amazing how many over 50s are now taking up our sport and absolutely loving it.

“This event is a great introduction to triathlon in a none intimidating and friendly environment,” she added.

More information and registration for the event can be found here.
