Shrewsbury Secure New Award from British Triathlon

Published:

British Triathlon can today announce that Shrewsbury Triathlon Club (SYtri) is the very first club in the country to achieve its brand new TriMark accreditation.

SYtri has been awarded TriMark Club Bronze as a recognition for its commitment to good club management, duty of care and welfare and the scope of its programme of activity available to members.

Clare Cotterill, who developed the submission for the club, said: “SYtri is a fantastic club and we have some wonderful members and volunteers involved at every level. It is absolutely key for us to aspire to be the best we can be for everyone involved, and this accreditation if the first stage of affirming how seriously we take the governance and running of our club. We will certainly display this award with a huge amount of pride.”

Jon Train, who runs the scheme for British Triathlon, said: “Accreditation has long been associated to large lever arch files and lots of paperwork. This new system has taken us online and completely simplifies the whole process. SYtri will now move on to our TriMark Club Silver award, which is in conjunction with Sport England and the Clubmark accreditation.”

A TriMark club is recognised as a safe, rewarding and fulfilling place for members of all ages and abilities. It also helps parents and carers identify the right club for their young people.
