We have chosen this venue as both a quality and safe place for your members to attend along with
being as central as possible across our wide region. Please support your committee and Triathlon
England representatives by attending. We would be delighted and indeed encourage that your club
is represented by one or two members. This really is your opportunity to hear what has happened in
the region on your behalf, provide feedback and steer the future direction.
You are politely reminded that it is an undertaking provided by each registered club and certainly for
all Starmark clubs to attend the AGM.

It may be of interest to some members that it can be advantageous on CVs to have experience in
voluntary roles.
As part of the committee meeting nominations will be accepted for roles on the committee.
Whilst some members of the committee will offer to continue their role, we are keen to here from
members of you clubs that wish to consider a role on the committee.
In order that you are able to understand the requirements of the roles, please find attached the
draft descriptions. These are currently being finalised for next year and further updates will be sent
when complete, however for your understanding and consideration they are unlikely to change
significantly.

This year this celebration of our regions achievement event will take place at:
West Midlands Water Ski Centre

The event will take place on Sunday 25th November from 4pm. We have arranged for buffet tea/
coffees along with a licensed bar.
Tickets are priced reasonably at £5 for adults and £3 for juniors, they must be purchased in advance

At the awards event we will also be presenting the award for the WM Club of the year for 2012. This
is your clubs opportunity to demonstrate what you are doing for triathlon and boost the profile for
your club.
In order to be considered for this award please prepare and submit your application/proposal to
the Triathlon England West Midlands Regional Committee by the latest 5pm on 30th October 2012.

In terms of your proposal, please find the following guidelines which must be adhered to in order for
it to be acceptable for consideration:
It must be no more than 500 words
The submission should demonstrate the achievements of an inclusive club which has provided
high quality coaching and increased participation levels and opportunities for individuals to
become involved in with triathlon throughout the past 12 months.
To further assist, the following are examples of the type of things that should/could be included
within your submission text:
Provide notes from your members on their positive experiences
Demonstrate that you have developed a network with local clubs to share resources and
develop partnerships with local authorities
Demonstrate that your club has made notable achievements and progression throughout the
past 12 months
Describe how your club has actively recruited and trained athletes, coaches and volunteers
Prove that your club is equitable, accessible and developmental in your approach, always
being athlete centred
Demonstrate that you are providing a quality service and innovative approach to the delivery
of the sport
Details of any level of club quality mark (STAR or clubmark)
Confirmation that your club is affiliated to British Triathlon.
Once all West Midlands clubs nominations have been received the TE West Midlands Regional
Committee will make the selection of West Midlands club for 2012.
