The West Midlands region has today announced that all competitors in their junior series must be Triathlon England members next season.

The decision comes with the launch of the new British Triathlon Junior Membership package last month.

Rosa Teagle, Chair of the West Midlands Regional Committee, said: “Our junior athletes can really enrich their training and racing experiences by considering the new Junior Membership package and the region really encourages all juniors to register as soon as possible.

“The insurance alone is a crucial factor for parents to consider – giving them peace of mind when their children are training and competing. As a regional committee, we feel that it is the responsible thing to do for the benefit and safety of our juniors moving forwards,” she added.

Lucy Hall, British elite triathlete and London 2012 Olympian, said: “Triathlon holds so many exciting avenues to explore as a junior athlete.

“The new British Triathlon Junior Membership scheme offers a perfect way to engage with the next generation of the sport and the website now holds some great, key information for young triathletes to discover as they develop.”
