Castle Virtual Series

Published:

In these unprecedented times when we all need to stay at home to protect ourselves and society at large, we are launching a virtual racing series.

Three events, three weekends, three countries

Keeping us connected, fit and sane this Spring 2020, and raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support

The Series will celebrate the host countries of our Castle Triathlon Series events, France, UK and Ireland. Sign up to one, two or all three events!

Event 1 :  Vive La France (24th – 26th April)
Event 2 :  VE Day 75th Anniversary (8th- 10th May)
Event 3 :  Luck of the Irish (22nd – 24th May)

Choose from 7 different run/bike/run Duathlon options and 3 Running distances. Track your progress throughout each weekend on our leader board and tune in for the live prize giving ceremony on Facebook.

The Castle Virtual Series will donate 20% of the Entry Fee to our charity partner Macmillan Cancer support (£3 of every Adult Duathlon Race Entry, £2 of every Adult Run Race Entry and £1 of every Junior Race Entry), to help Macmillan continue to deliver the physical, emotional and financial support to those living with cancer and their families, helping to live life as fully as they can.

To create a truly community event, we’re asking all participants carry out your challenge over the Event weekends. We hope you enjoy being active with fellow participants virtually, interacting with each other on the Castle Series social media channels and  making the most of the space and time you have to exercise in a safe but competitive environment.

THE FORMAT

Race virtually with the Castle Series community from within the boundaries of your home and immediate surroundings.

All competitors welcome. Don’t worry if you don’t have a running machine or a turbo trainer, we’re looking forward to seeing, running in the garden, down the corridor or even stair running and cycling leg exercises circa 80s dance/fitness videos. Thinking up creative ways to complete your race is an essential part of the fun! However you need to just GET. IT. DONE.

Please note: We don’t want any accidents so please restrict your bike legs to the turbo trainer or static bike. We want competitors to comply with Government Advice to Stay Home, Protect the NHS and Save Lives.

We and your fellow participants are counting on your integrity and honesty when timing each leg and submitting your results.
