Castle Virtual Series are on track to raise £10,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Help them meet their target by competing in a Duathlon, Run only or Cycle only race this weekend, 22 - 24th May.

Back in April, The Castle Series launched their inaugural virtual race series for all ages and abilities - three events, across three weekends, with three country themes to mirror their summer programme of European events.

Over a 1,000 athletes took part in first two events Vive La France (24-26 April) and VE Day 75th Anniversary, (8-10 May) raising over £5,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Now, all eyes are on their third and final event - The Luck of the Irish (22-24 May) - which is set to be the biggest and best yet. On what would have been the first meet of their Series 2021 at Lough Cutra Castle, Ireland, The Castle Series are encouraging as many people as possible stay connected, keep fit and raise money for Macmillan by racing in and around their own homes.

Funds are flooding in in a number of ways: the Castle Virtual Series is donating 20% of each Race Entry Fee (Duathlon £3, Run £2, Cycle £2, Junior £1), competitors have generously added additional donations to their registration form; those who aren’t able to take part have been texting CASTLE to 70550 to donate £5.

Individuals have also set up Just Giving pages, including keen triathlete The Rt Hon Brandon Lewis MP.

It’s not too late to join in the fun and race with the Castle Series community this
weekend. Choose your race from seven duathlon distance, four run only distances and four cycle only distances.

Prizes are awarded for gender winners in each age and distance category, special mentions are given for the best dressed and there is an opportunity for clubs to win up to 50% off race entry for the Castle Series 2021 through a Points Competition and a Participation Competition.

Take part this weekend and help Castle Virtual Series raise £10,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Brian Adcock, Race Director, Castle Virtual Series: "Now more than ever we need to stick together. We have a very active and enthusiastic community of athletes whom we have been building with in the 12 years we have run The Castle Series, who are ready to get stuck into this challenge and raise some much needed funds for Macmillan Cancer Support!”

Sarah-Jayne Grahame, Challenge Events Programme Manager, Macmillan Cancer
Support: “Macmillan are really excited to be involved in the new Castle Virtual Series! There's never been a more important time to help people living with cancer and we are so grateful to them and their dedicated participants.”
