Published:

The 2015 race season is about to start so time to see if the winter training has paid of with some early season races. The programme sees March with a number of Duathlons, a beginners aquathon Go Tri Event and a couple of very early pool based triathlon.

So race season is here so maybe your testing your form, thinking of qualifying for the ITU World Duathlon Champs, having a go at your first ever multi disciplined event or maybe you are wanting to get back in the pool for a sprint distance triathlon.

One thing is for sure there is something for everybody!!

The first race of the year is the Seagrave Charity Duathlon which is raising money for Hope Against Charity on 1st March.  No better way to start the year than raising some money for a worthwhoile cause.

Next is a an early season classic on the 7th  for the duathletes amongst you with the Dambuster Duathlon.  This acts as a World Qualifier for the ITU 2015 World Duathlon Champs in Adlelaide, Australia.  Good luck to those that have entered.

Next up on the 8th is the Battlefield Duathlon in Naseby being run by On Your Mark Events.

This is then followed up with the Clumber Park Duathlon on 21st March which acts as a qualifier for 2015 ITU World Champs, the 2015 European Champs and 2016 European Champs.  If you are aiming to qualify this has a number to aim at within the same race.

On the same afternoon there is a GO TRI Duathlon at  Mallory Race Circuit aimed at first timers and beginners so if you have ever thought about giving multi-sport a bash here is an easy entry event to get you started with nice short distances.  If you are a novice have a look at the Go Tri website for furter details of other races.

The Northampton Rotary Club has their annual duathlon on 22 March raising money for Northampton Hope Centre and Meningitis Now charities.  On the same day there is the Varsity Triathlon at Notting University which is open to the public.  This can lay claim to being the first triathlon of the year in the East Midlands.

On the last Sunday of the month, the 29th, there is the opportunity to watch the British Elite Duathlon Championship at Rockingham.  On this day there is also the ever popular East Leake Triathlon being run by 4LifeEvents.  Last but least there is also a final Go Tri Aquathon in Melton Mowbray for novices that will give them the confidence to move up to the bigger races.

All of these events and more can be found on the Triathlon England website Find an Event page.
