Information for British Age Group athletes who live outside the UK

Things to consider ...

Membership

All members of the British Triathlon Age Group Team must have a current British Triathlon membership. Athletes are able to register with their address from outside the UK but do need to select a Home Nation (Wales, Scotland or England) when signing up for membership.

Athletes are advised to take out a Core membership package rather than an Ultimate membership package due to not being able to benefit from the extra insurance covers offered.

When signing up for membership if the postal address will not work, simply add any UK postcode to the postcode box, example LE11 3WX, and then change the address to what it should be once all of the address boxes appear.

Athletes may not compete for Great Britain if they have already represented another nation in the previous two years. If an athlete has represented another nation longer than two years ago, athletes should contact World Triathlon and request to change Nationality. There may be a period of up to three years where the athlete has to wait to represent Great Britain so the decision to change nationality should not be taken lightly.

British athletes who live in Australia may be a member of Triathlon Australia and also be a member of an Australian Triathlon club as well as being a member of British Triathlon for the purpose of representing Great Britain at the Townsville Multisport races in 2024,if they qualify for a team.

Athletes may not compete for Triathlon Australia and British Triathlon at the same time.

All members of the Age Group team must also wear the approved British Triathlon Age Group Team tri-suit. Qualified athletes are welcome to purchase as many items of team kit as they wish. kit items can only be purchased with a kit code which will be sent after athletes are confirmed to have qualified for the team.

For athletes based in Australia, there may be an opportunity to send a section of tri-suits to Australia as a bulk shipment which could then be distributed internally. Further details will follow in the new year.
