On Saturday 2 September 2017, The British Triathlon Mixed Relay Cup will be hosted in Nottingham. The Cup will feature top British and international elite triathletes racing around Victoria Embankment and Trent Bridge in this dynamic and exciting format of the sport.

However, this exciting event isn’t just about the elites having a go…. British Triathlon have lined up a whole host of opportunities for you to get involved in multisport this summer!

Are you looking for a new way to get active? Have you been inspired by the success of Leeds’ Brownlee boys? Are you seeking a new challenge? If so, read on and come to #MixItUp with GO TRI. The programme is being delivered by Nottingham City Council, Sport Nottinghamshire, Rushcliffe Borough Council and British Triathlon with the support of Sport England. It provides opportunities to get into triathlon activity in a fun and safe environment.

Whether you want to TRI a beginner session, learn about the different aspects of triathlon, take part in an event or get involved in volunteering – this is the place to start. Whatever your age, experience or fitness level, there is something to suit you. All sessions are led by friendly, experienced leaders who are ready to welcome you long and support you on your journey into triathlon activity.

Activity Key

GO TRI Active

Looking for a more interesting way to get fit? GO TRI Active is a coached session that is designed to help intorduce beginners to triathlon.


With GO TRI Gym, triathlon-trained instructors will give you the confidence and motivation to be a part of this fun and fast-growing sport - all at the convenience of your local gym.

GO TRI Events

GO TRI Events are a fun way to access triathlon, aquathlon (swim/run) or duathlon (run/bike/run) for the first time. GO TRI Events are available locally, reasonably priced, with manageable distances which have been purpose-designed for beginners.


Alongside the televised showcase Mixed Relay Cup event, a brand new and exciting mass participation triathlon event is taking place in Nottingham on Saturday 2 September 2017.

With two distances available participants will take part in a pool swim, followed by a very safe bike ride on closed roads and a flat run.


  • Triathlon: 300m pool swim, 12km bike, 3km run
  • GO TRI:  200m pool swim, 7km bike, 1.5km run

Colwick Park Open Water Swimming

As part of the British Triathlon Federation and Royal Life Partnership, Colwick Park will be working towards SH2OUT Venue Accreditation. You can learn more about the SH2OUT strategy for open water swimming here.

Starting in April, our open water swim centre offers that chance to swim in open water in a safe and friendly environment three times a week. Entrants to the City of Nottingham Triathlon and members of Triathlon England can get a £2 discount on each swim, just show your membership card or entry confirmation.
