Grandstand tickets for the ITU World Triathlon Leeds are now on sale as today, 2 March 2018, marks 100 days to go until the world’s best triathlete’s race through the streets of Leeds on 10 June 2018.
In 2016 and 2017, thousands of tickets were sold as sport fans from across the country jumped at the chance to take in unrivalled views of the ITU World Triathlon Leeds from the spectator grandstands, which will be held this year on Sunday 10 June 2018. Officially on sale to the general public from 10:00am this morning, grandstand ticket holders will be able to enjoy the famous blue carpet experience watching the world’s best triathletes including local heroes Alistair and Jonathan Brownlee, with unrivalled views of both the second transition and the all-important finish line in Leeds’ iconic Millennium Square.
Ticket holders will see the elite athletes pass them seven times on the bike and four times on the run, as well as witnessing the conclusion of the races, which in the past two years has seen the Brownlee brothers top the podium in gold and silver medal positions. A big screen will be located opposite the grandstand, showing live coverage and commentary, ensuring ticket holders can stay up to speed with the race as the action unfolds around Leeds city centre.
A series of priority windows saw hundreds of tickets snapped and organisers are encouraging individuals to secure their tickets early to avoid disappointment. Tickets will be priced at £31.80 for adults and £21.20 for children (U18s) and over 65s including booking fee. With the women’s race starting at 13:06 and the men’s at 15:51, ticket holders can expect well over four hours of live triathlon action direct from the best seats in the house.
British Triathlon, Chief Executive Officer, Andy Salmon said: “Today marks 100 days to go until the ITU World Triathlon Leeds and with the Abu Dhabi leg of the ITU World Triathlon Series taking place today as well, this announcement provides a much-sought after opportunity for fans to book themselves a prime view of the world’s best triathletes competing through the streets of Leeds in June.”
