For the first time, all athletes over the age of 20 will be given the chance to compete alongside U23 and Senior athletes within the British Triathlon Pathway as part of the five-race series.
The series gives senior athletes the opportunity to compete in high-quality draft-legal races on a regular basis as part of their continued development.
Each event on the series will have a total prize fund of £3000, divided equally between the men’s and women’s races. There will also be an additional £3000 pot as part of the overall series standings.
The top-five athletes in each race and overall will receive prize money depending on their position.
The first event of the series takes place on 9 May at the Llanelli Multi Sport Festival, with athletes competing over a sprint distance.
There are five events in total across the series, with the final event of the year, British Triathlon’s Season Finale on 12-13 September, seeing the overall series winners crowned.
The Season Finale will also host the British Elite Triathlon Championships on the Saturday and the Accenture Mixed Relay Cup on Sunday, giving senior athletes the opportunity to compete in the newest triathlon format to enter the Olympic Games.
Race entries are via application only, with identified athletes from the eight British Triathlon Affiliated Training Centres and athletes who competed in the 2018 or 2019 Junior Super Series applying as Senior athletes, with all other athletes who wish to take part applying as Age Group athletes on the race entry pages.
International athletes are also invited to take part in the events and should email superseries@britishtriathlon.org if they wish to apply to do so.
BRITISH TRIATHLON SENIOR SUPER SERIES
All athletes who compete are eligible to win the race and receive prize money, however only British Triathlon Home Nations members will receive Super Series points and the chance to win the overall series title and prize money.
