Race Pass Terms and Conditions

  1. Upon purchase of a Race Pass either through the British Triathlon website, the British Triathlon online system, or a third-party online entry system, you will become a member of the sport and hold a Race Licence of British Triathlon for the duration of the race you are participating in.
  2. By doing so, you confirm you are a UK resident and are purchasing a Race Pass for a race at a British Triathlon permitted event.
  3. You agree to be bound by the policies and procedures of British Triathlon and the relevant Home Nation Association, including but not limited to the British Triathlon Code of Ethics, British Triathlon Safeguarding & Protecting Children Policy, British Triathlon Safeguarding Adults Policy, British Triathlon Equality & Diversity Policy, British Triathlon Disciplinary Policy, and British Triathlon Anti-Doping Rules.
  4. Furthermore, you agree to be bound to know, understand, and follow the British Triathlon Competition Rules, available on www.britishtriathlon.org, and to abide by and respect the decisions of British Triathlon Technical Officials.
  5. You are not eligible for a Race Pass, if you are undergoing a period of suspension or ineligibility from any triathlon activity pursuant to the rules and regulations of British Triathlon, including, but not limited to, British Triathlon Safeguarding & Protecting Children Policy, British Triathlon Safeguarding Adults Policy, British Triathlon Equality & Diversity Policy, British Triathlon Disciplinary Policy and British Triathlon Anti-Doping Rules. 
  6. We reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to immediately withdraw your Race Pass, in the following circumstances:
    1. in the reasonable opinion of British Triathlon, you act in any manner which brings British Triathlon or triathlon activity into disrepute.
    2. in the reasonable opinion of British Triathlon, you misuse your Race Pass in any manner.
    • In all such cases we will have no liability to refund you or pay any other compensation to you in connection therewith.
  7. You also agree to have made yourself familiar with and agree to be bound by the Anti-Doping Rules of British Triathlon. You also agree to submit to the authority of UK Anti-Doping in the application and enforcement of the Anti-Doping Rules. Please note Anti-Doping Rules of British Triathlon, apply to all individuals with a Race Pass who participate in competitive activity for whichever is the longer; a) the length of the race pass period; or b) 12 months from the date of the competitive activity the individual took part in, whether or not the individual is a citizen of, or resident in the UK.
  8. You will receive the benefit of public liability insurance up to a £15,000,000 limit of indemnity to cover you whilst you are competing in a permitted British Triathlon event. The insurance also covers the cost of defending a claim against you if you are held responsible for loss, damage or injury to someone else or their property, less the £250 excess which you may be required to pay in the case of damage to third party property. Please note that this a general description only of the insurance benefits, which are subject to detailed terms and conditions, including exemptions. Confirmation of the terms of your insurance cover and how to claim can be found on the British Triathlon Insurance Zone website.
  9. You will not receive or be entitled to any other British Triathlon membership benefits.
  10. Transfers, Deferrals and Refunds:
    1. For a Race Pass purchased alongside an event entry, through a third-party online entry system, requests for  transfers, deferrals and refunds are to be made in line with the event organiser’s event terms and conditions. Where a refund is deemed eligible, this will be payable by the event organiser. You must email the event organiser with your request.
    2. For a Race Pass purchased through the British Triathlon online entry system or through the British Triathlon website as a separate transaction from an event entry, a Race Pass is only transferrable to another race within the same event held by the same event organiser. Transfers to other events held by the same event organiser or a different event organiser is not permitted. Transfers to another participant is not permitted. deferrals are not permitted. Refunds are eligible where you have withdrawen from an event no later than 28 days before 00:00 on the day of the event. Where a refund is deemed eligible, this will be payable by British Triathlon. You must email racepass@britishtriathlon.org  stating your name (or the participants name), the event name, the race entered, and the event date with your request. Evidence of event withdrawal must be included with any request for a refund.
  11. You agree to being photographed as part of official event coverage and for the images to be used by British Triathlon to promote the sport and event, but not in any derogatory way or to imply endorsement of any product or service.
  12. Your personal information will be used in accordance with the British Triathlon Privacy Notice and the contact/privacy options you select when purchasing a Race Pass.
  13. We reserve the right to amend these terms with or without notice to you from time to time. Any such amendment shall be effective once the revised terms have been posted on the British Triathlon website, and it shall be your responsibility to check these terms for any such amendments. To the extent that any amendment to the terms affects your rights or responsibilities in connection with your Race Pass, we shall notify such changes to you in advance of them becoming effective. British Triathlon reserves the right to re-brand or re-name Race Pass at any time.
