Marc Jenkins has been at the forefront of Welsh Triathlon for 20 years, firstly as an athlete having represented Great Britain and Wales.
Marc's career highlights have been 12th place at the 1998 ITU World Championships, 10th at the 2002 Manchester Commonwealth Games and 45th at the 2004 Athens Olympic Games. This was the venue for the epic and unforgettable scene, which epitomise Marc’s character, where after a puncture early in the race he runs up hill with his bike on his shoulder, so that he can get to the wheel stop to change wheels, just so he can finish.
With Marc’s attention turning to support his wife, he has become one of the most successful British coaches guiding Helen Jenkins to two World Championship titles and to Team GB’s highest placed Olympic finish, with 5th place at the London 2012 Olympic Games and some unfinished business in Rio.
Marc has served both Wales and Britain at the highest level and continues to strive for sporting excellence and is deserving of the British Triathlon Gold Pin.
