The third of this year’s World Triathlon Cups will be hosted in Pontevedra, Spain where seven British triathletes will take to the start line on Sunday (24 July).

Barclay Izzard and Kate Waugh will both be back in action having raced at World Triathlon Championship Series Hamburg two weeks ago, including being part of Great Britain’s winning mixed relay team.

Waugh will be joined on the women’s start line by Sophie Alden, who was second at Europe Triathlon Premium Cup Holten at the start of the month, and Iona Miller, who will compete at her first World Triathlon Cup.

Joining Izzard on the men’s start list is Tom Bishop, who won bronze at Europe Triathlon Premium Cup Holten and also finished fourth over the middle distance at Challenge Wales since claiming mixed relay silver at AJ Bell 2022 WTCS Leeds.

Also competing in Pontevedra are Harry Leleu and Jack Willis who both competed at the opening World Triathlon Cup in Arzachena with Willis arriving in Spain off the back of consecutive silver medals at Europe Triathlon Cups including the Premium Cup in Holten.

The racing will be over the standard distance in Pontevedra, with both the men’s and women’s races available to watch on triathlonlive.tv.
