Intention to Qualify

To register click on the blue 'Register' button below. You need your Home Nation membership number and password to log in.

Athletes need to have a Core or Ultimate British Triathlon membership. Click here for membership information.

Athletes need to register before 5pm on a registration closing date. 

Once registered, athletes will receive a confirmation email and will be added to the registration list below. (Check your junk mail if your email has not been received)

Athletes must be 18 on the 31st of December 2025 to be eligible to qualify.

The registration fees are non-refundable in any circumstance, and we cannot accept registrations after the final registration date.

 

Athletes who live outside the UK

All athletes who are British passport holders and live outside the UK are welcome to register with a race result that meets the criteria below.

Athletes who live outside the UK need to purchase a British Triathlon membership at Core or Ultimate level but should be aware that as they live outside the UK, they may not benefit from all of the membership benefits such as insurance cover.

Qualification

To qualify for this event, athletes need to supply a race result which meets the qualification evidence and qualifying criteria outlined below:

 

Qualification evidence 

Athletes are required to submit performances providing the following information:

  • Race name
  • Race date
  • Athletes finish time
  • Winner of your age-groups finishing time the year of championship event
  • Working link to your age group's online results (URL)

 

Qualifying criteria

  • Event must have been chip timed.
  • Results must be in 5-year age group bands. Results in 10-year age bands will be considered at Q3 onwards.
  • Races should be the equivalent of a long distance triathlon with the swim in open water, the bike on tarmac and the run predominantly on paths. 
  • If the championship course is deemed to be closer to a middle distance triathlon than athletes will be able to register with a result where the minimum race distances are Swim 1.8Km, Bike 80Km, Run 18Km. This page will be updated to show this.
  • Submitted results must have a finishing percentage of 15% of the winner of your age group to be considered for team selection.

  • Athletes who have registered with a result from January 2024 onward and have 200 or more finishers* will be considered from Q1 onwards.
  • Athletes who have registered with a result from May 2023 onwards and have 150 or more finishers* will be considered at Q2 onwards.
  • Athletes who have registered with a result that have 150 finishers* or less will be considered at Q3 onwards.
  • Athletes who have registered with a result in 10-year age group bands will be considered at Q3 onwards.
  • Long distance races where one element was cancelled, replaced, or cut short can still be submitted but a link must be added for a result for that discipline in the supporting evidence section, athletes who submit this type of result will be considered from Q3 onwards.

Q1-5pm Friday 25.10.2024

Q2 5pm Friday TBC 

Q3-5pm Friday TBC 

 

PQs from 2024 deadline to register is the first registration deadline.

 

If an athlete improves their best performance before a registration deadline and would like to update the result, they can update the result by following the instructions found here and looking for "How do I change the race result I added to qualify for an WT/ET race."

Pre-Qualification

To Pre-Qualify for the 2025 Europe Triathlon European Championship race, athletes must finish in the top 10 places in their age group and be one of the first three British athletes to finish in the 2024 Europe Triathlon European Championship race.  

Allocation of Places

  • There are 20 places in each age group. Some of these places may be pre-filled by athletes who pre-qualified from the previous year’s championships.
  • Places are allocated after registration cut off dates in order of fastest result to slowest result.
  • After the final registration deadline date, the remaining places will be allocated. After this if any athletes withdraw the remaining place will be allocated by rolldown places. 
  • Qualified athletes will be notified by email and will be marked with a 'Q' next to their name in the registered athletes list. Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4* and Q are all qualifying statuses.
  • If you use a Hotmail, outlook or work email address please check your junk mail, we find these email addresses often send our emails to the junk mail inbox. We advise athletes not to use these types of email addresses and we can't re-issue a Q if an athlete has missed the opportunity to take up their place because they missed an email.
