The West Midlands Region Regional Academy helps young athletes from local and regional programmes to develop into nationally and internationally recognised athletes in line with the BTF National Development Strategy.
The Academy helps talented young athletes in the West Midlands to build on their potential and give them opportunities to experience high quality coaching from inside and outside the sport with a view to developing them into competent athletes, capable of being accepted on to the World Class Programme of British Triathlon.
In addition to Academy Training Days, athletes are supported and monitored continuously by a team of dedicated coaches, led by Level 3 Triathlon Coach Steve Lloyd as Regional Head Coach. Steve has been involved in sport and coaching for a number of years and runs his own triathlon coaching business. He is supported by Andy Teagle. Their Academy training complements the athletes' training in their home clubs.
