Beth Potter Leads The Way In Another Busy Weekend Of Swim, Bike, Run

Beth Potter sprinted to victory in the World Triathlon Championship Series Montreal to set up another busy weekend for British Athletes.

Beth Potter returned to the top step of the podium at World Triathlon Championship Series Montreal, beating French rival Leonie Periault by just two seconds. Further back there was a seventh-place finish for Georgia Taylor-Brown, while Sophie Coldwell and Kate Waugh came 13th and 15th respectively. In the men’s race Jonny Brownlee crossed the line in 17th ahead of Jack Willis who came 43rd. Read the full race report here.

At 2023 Europe Triathlon Cup Wels there was more medal success for British Athletes coming in the men’s elite race. Hugo Milner came third in a tight race that saw him finish just eight seconds off the winner Simon Henseleit, with 16 racers all crossing the line within a minute of the German. Harry Leleu was just outside the podium places in fourth, finishing in 00:53:16. Jimmy Lund was the third Brit to cross the line finishing 18th with Cameron Harris just a bit further back in 22nd. Iona Miler was the only British Athlete in the women’s race and she finished in seventh for the second race in a row.

There was also medal success in long distance triathlon as well. Kate Curran, who was taking part in 2023 IRONMAN 70.3 Elsino finished in third place, behind Ireland’s Olivia Mitchell and Anna Bergsten of Sweeden. Benjamin Goodfellow competed in IRONMAN France and crossed the line in 13th with a time of 10:03:40.

In Challenge Roth Fenella Langridge just missed out on a podium place coming fourth after leading coming out of the water. Fellow Brit Debbie Greig almost broke into the top 10 but settled for 11th crossing the line in 09:25:15. In the men’s race Joe Skipper led home a quartet of British athletes as he came fifth. Kieran Lindars came 10th with Will Crudgington (13th) and Pete Dyson (16th) finishing further back.
