How to watch Nottingham & Leeds, and what else is happening this weekend

Nottingham and Leeds will understandably dominate this week’s triathlon headlines and TV airtime, but there’s also an ETU Cup and IRONMAN 70.3 taking place.

There are a few remaining Grandstand tickets for Thursday evening’s explosive Mixed Relay event. You can also watch for free around the course. National pride is on the line against the best triathlon nations in the world, and this race counts towards Olympic qualification in 2020.

AJ Bell World Triathlon Leeds

Who will be the new champions of Leeds? Injury has forced the withdrawal of Flora Duffy and Alistair Brownlee, and Jonathan Brownlee hopes that he’s in with a shout. Britain’s women have demonstrated great form already this season. Read more here.

2018 Weert ETU Triathlon European Cup

Weert, Netherlands, hosts the next ETU European Cup event on Sunday with Iestyn Harrett and James Teagle being two of the four British men lining up. Sophie Alden is the lone British female competitor.

IRONMAN Staffordshire 70.3

Staffordshire hosts the ever-popular IRONMAN 70.3 event with a big field of home Pro and Age-Group athletes competing on Sunday.

Lucy Gossage won IRONMAN Lanzarote just two weeks ago, so may find this challenging against the fast legs of the likes of Emma Pallant; but challenging yourself is what triathlon is all about. Mark Buckingham lines up with experienced and up-and-coming athletes all eyeing the men’s podium.

British Standard Distance Triathlon Championships, qualification.

Age Group athletes will compete in the British Standard Distance Triathlon Championship as Leeds host for the second consecutive year. 

Age Group athletes will also have the chance to qualify for the 2019 ETU Triathlon European Championships during Sunday's event.

Tristar Leeds

Leeds welcomes the next generation of triathletes with the TriStar races taking place in Roundhay Park on Saturday. The course consists of shorter distances giving TriStar athletes the opportunity to finish on the blue carpet.

The next race in the Youth and Junior Super Series takes place in Leeds on Saturday.

GO TRI and SH2OUT

GO TRI will be taking over Rounday Park as they host the biggest ever GO TRI event with nearly 400 beginners taking on the popular event.
